Rationing your time and energy

Understanding your limitations, especially when it comes to your goals and ambition, is an important part of being successful, and doing great things.

In the same way Rome wasn’t built in a night, overnight successes don’t happen overnight.
Contrary to popular belief, rarely do people who are deemed to be overnight successes actually go from nothing to everything overnight.

A vital part of progress is consistently putting in the effort.
This is essential, and is the only way to keep moving forward, continuously.
Consistent effort is vital because no matter how big your vision, how grand your plans – there is only so much you can do at any one time.

That’s why it is so important to prioritise.

Realise that you only have a finite number of hours in a day, and your mental and physical energy is finite too.
Then create a plan to make the most of your available time and energy.

You can overwork, of course.
But wearing yourself out is a short term strategy that can (and will) cause you more harm than good in the long term.

Be smart.
Look after yourself.
Make the most of your time and energy.
And put in consistent effort.
Tiny drops of water make a mighty ocean.
