Sacrifices are hard, but often necessary.
Especially if you have big goals and dreams and plans.
Especially if you want to do great things, have an impact and leave a legacy.
Because doing great things takes work.
And requires sacrifices.
Everything we do in life – big or small – has an opportunity cost.
Want to learn something new? Means you won’t have as much time as you did before to binge on your favourite Netflix show.
Want to travel somewhere new? Means you will have to spend money.
Want to become the best at what you do? Means you won’t have as much time to socialise or have fun.
Want to seriously improve your health? Means you will have to spend more time working out and significantly cut out on the unhealthy food you love.
And so on. You get the idea.
Nothing in life really ever comes free – the price sometimes is obvious and straightforward (like money), but more often than not the price isn’t so obvious (like time, comfort, opportunities).
So an important question to ask yourself if you really want something in life is if you are willing to pay the price for it.
Because unless you are, achieving that dream will be neigh near impossible.
So get clear on how much you really want it, and if you are willing to do what it takes to get it.
Because otherwise you are wasting your time.
Sacrifices are hard, but necessary.
Especially when your end goal is worth the sacrifice.
